Love this tutorial! Have been working on several of these today and will share pics soon. :)

Thanks kristy - can't wait to see!

Very cute! I will be making these for my two little buglets (grandbabies) this week. Thank you for the tutorial. :0)

Thanks so much ! I need to make 2 of these for the grandkids !

I am on step 6. When I sew the 1/8 in seam, do I sew thru the triangles also or is the material just flat and straight at the bottom? Or is the bottom still folded up on the bottom seam? I think these are darling but just seem to be struggling to get things right. Guess I should say I am far from an expert seamstress!!

These are great treat bags. Thank you so much for the tutorial.

Roxy, sorry, I just saw your comment. The answer is no, you don't sew through the triangles, I just used them as a guide in this step. I hope you didn't get too frustrated or give up! Hope this helped, if you have other questions- please ask!

Where did you purchase the fabric?

Frankly, I am disappointed in the bag--I made 2. Directions were confusing and unclear in some steps. Final product, in my opinion, is too large for a smaller child and they are very floppy. The bag needs some interfacing. Based on the representation, I did not use it and it was a huge mistake. Sample bag is very cute but it must be stuff with lots of stuffing.

Needs much better pictures and instructions. Wasted a ton of time and fabric trying to make these, and I am not a novice. Really disappointed.

I totally agree with you. I spent all afternoon working on this bag. I have been sewing for 35 years. Mine does not look like the picture.

Terrible directions. I have been sewing for 35 years and had a hard time getting this bag together. Finally did it my way. Did not look like the picture.

This tutorial is TERRIBLE. Its a cute bag but the instructions are crappy!! Dont even attempt!

I'm stuck on step 4 and would REALLY like to see better instructions.

I made this bag for my 6 and 8 year-old kids. I am a novice sewer. I learned a few things along the way that might help someone else.
1. This is a big bag. Appox 16 inches wide by 15 inches tall
2. This bag is floppy.
3. In step 4-place your two piceses right sides together with outside fabric facing outside fabric and lining facing lining and sew down both long sides so you end up with a tube. You will be sewing 2 layers of fabric. Do not sew the bottom. Once you have your tube, turn right side out and fold lining into bag. Your raw edges of the outside fabric and lining will match up with wrong sides together now. Sew around the bottom going through 2 layers of fabric, you will still have a tube. (my son got all excited at this point because it looks like a bag, but I explained that all the candy would fall out. There's no bottom yet)
I was okay after that. I hope it helps someone else!

All in all, its a nice bag and I am glad I didn't give up when the directions had me stumped! I hope you all have a happy halloween!

Thank you so much for your input. I finally got it. Your tips help me to understand this. I have everything cut and ready to go I have read this many times. Your tips made everything clear. Thank you.

Spindle speed variation - stop chatter on your CNC lathe

SSV speeds up and slows down the spindle continually during cutting, and changing spindle speed in this manner can often keep the cut out of the chatter zone. This video gives an in-depth look at how the feature works, and shows examples of using SSV both with and without tailstock support. We conclude by taking a look at how SSV works in conjunction with two common G-codes: G96 and G50.

Well, being my first halloween as a home owner, I don't want to be "lights off" on saturday, if that is when the kids will go around.

I asked a neighbor what halloween was like here, and they said, "a few kids" but they just leave their lights off.

I did have one child come to my door many years ago, and he was maybe 15-17 years old and surely going around for the younger kids in the family that could not go out due to their age.

I've been in mobile home parks or apartments or a relative's house up to now, so this is my first.

I have intentionally bought the type candy I like, in case no kids come by. My plan is to give each child some of "my favorite" and give each child $1 and tell them to use it to buy "their favorite".
I'll "strictly" take notes of what the costumes are, so no one tries to come back for a second $1.00.

If the numbers are far greater than the few that the neighbor mentioned, I'll have a limit of how many $1.00's.

It could be a non event, who knows.

I've never participated in halloween, as an adult, so it may be insignificant to most, but something new to me.

Don't take this the wrong way, but as a parent I would be suspicious of someone handing out money to kids (do I have to spell out why?). Nobody gives out money. I suggest candy or a small toy. If you want, buy some certificates for a smoothie treat from wendy's or similar place.

Kids are used to getting a wide variety of candy so don't worry about hitting their favorites. They can trade or give to mom/dad if they don't like what they get. That's part of the fun.

Our neighborhood is inundated with kids but it is very large so it depends on where you are.

It's too confusing to change to another night. Don't know why anyone would even suggest it. It is a great opportunity for christian churches to have "fall festivals" at the church before or after sunday evening service. Also a great time to bring friends with you that you have been asking to attend.

I'm all for keeping kids off the streets, but it is still a wonderful neighborhood tradition that hasn't been taken away from us because of the law, crime, terrorists or fanatics.

Seriously? Please do. As a kid I would love to get a dollar!

I think money would be much less risk as opposed to getting candy that is tainted in any way. Not that it is a big concern since everything it individually wrapped.

If my kids got something that looks home made or is not sealed, it goes into the garbage unless I personally know who gave it out.

SUNDAY PERIOD, I love halloween, and actually it is my favorite holiday. I go a little overboard with the yard, and halloween night I kick it up a notch. Next year I might actually start to do a charity spooky house to raise money for a local charity.

I think school should just be closed on monday
either saturday or the REAL holiday, sunday I hope everyone has a safe and spooky day!
